Pazham Vilayichathu

Ingredients

  • Banana -1 kg
  • Brown rice flakes- 1 cup
  • Grated coconut – 1 1/2 cup
  • Sugar – 2 or 3 tbsp
  • Cashew nut – 2 or 3 tbsp
  • Raisins- 1 or 2 tbsp
  • Cardamom – 2 or 3 nos
  • Ghee – 3 or 4 tbsp

Method

  • Then peel the banana
  • Then chopped into thin pieces and set aside.
  • Heat ghee in a pan
  • Then add sliced bananas and saute well till they become light brown
  • Add sugar granules and sauté them well.
  • Once it is done , transfer it into another bowl and keep it aside.
  • Again, using the same pan for frying other ingredients,
  • Add cardamom, cashew nuts and raisins.
  • Sauté and fry till they become light brown in colour.
  • Then add grated coconut and saute them well.
  • Add brown rice flakes and fry them till they turn crispy.
  • Then add the cooked bananas and mix everything until well combined.
  • Remove it from the flame and serve.
  • Serve and enjoy the sweet pazham aval vilayichathu with tea or coffee
