Healthy Monsoon Special Recipe EP : 1 – Thottvadi Kanji | Karkkidaka Kanji

Ingredients

  • Shame plant – 2 hand full
  • Naval rice – 2 cup
  • Broken rice – 2 1/2 cup
  • Grated coconut – 2 cup

Method

  • First, we have to clean the shame plants one by one.
  • Then cut it into medium lengths and set it aside.
  • Now grind the shame plant into a fine paste and transfer it into a medium bowl.
  • Then add a sufficient amount of water and mix them well.
  • Then remove the unground plant ingredients.
  • Again, drain them well and set them aside.
  • Heat a pot and add drained shame plant water.
  • Cover them and boil them well.
  • Take a pan,add navara rice and wash them well.
  • Drain and keep aside.
  • Then add the cleaned navara rice to the hot water pan.
  • Cover them and cook them well.
  • Take a pan,add grated coconut and water.
  • Squeezed them well with hands.
  • Drain the thick coconut milk and keep it aside.
  • Again, add water to the squeezed coconut pan.
  • Mix them well, drain the thin coconut milk, and set aside.
  • Remove the lid and check whether the rice is well cooked or not.
  • Then add thin coconut milk and mix them well.
  • Cover them and cook them well.
  • Again, add broken rice to the bowl, then add water.
  • Wash them well, drain, and keep them aside.
  • Remove the lid and add the cleaned, broken rice.
  • Cover and cook them well until the rice is well cooked.
  • Remove the lid and check whether the rice is well cooked or not.
  • Again, add thick coconut milk and mix them well.
  • Then cook for a few minutes, remove from the fire, and set aside.
  • Serve the healthy monsoon special shame plant porridge.
