Kerala Style Bitter Gourd Potato Fry – pavakka and potato fry


  • Bitter gourd-3 nos(medium, sliced)
  • Potato- 2 nos(medium, sliced)
  • Mustard seed-1 tsp
  • Urdu dal-1 tsp
  • Green chilli-3 nos
  • Onion-2 nos
  • Red chilli powder-1 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil- for cooking


  • Heat oil in a pan add mustard seed and urdu dal, Once the crackle.
  • Add bitter gourd, potato green chilli and onion saute well and cook for some minutes
  • Then we add red chilli powder and salt, mix well.
  • Again we add little amount of water into the pan mix ,cover and cook well .
  • Finally we add little amount of oil mix well
  • Turn off the flame and serve the kerala style bitter gourd potato fry into meals.
  • Enjoy the traditional taste …
