Kerala style garlic pickle recipe


  • Garlic-1/2 kg
  • Mustard seed-2 tbsp
  • Ginger-1 medium
  • Green chilli-3
  • Curry leaves-2 sprigs
  • Chilli powder-2 tbsp
  • Fenugreek powder-1 tbsp
  • Asafoetida powder- 1 tbsp
  • Vinegar-1 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for cooking


  • First we peel off the garlic and keep a side
  • Then we heat oil in a pan add mustard seed and saute till they crackle
  • Then we add garlic ,ginger and green chilli ,saute well
  • Add curry leaves,red chilli powder and salt mix well and cook for some minutes
  • Again we add fenugreek powder and asafoetida powder mix well
  • Remove from the flame ,cool and store in a glass jar.
  • Enjoy the taste of kerala style garlic pickle with meals
