Kerala Style Snack Potato Bonda Recipe

Ingredient

  • Potato – 1KG (boiled and smashed)
  • Onion – 4 (chopped)
  • Green chili – 2
  • Ginger – 1 Medium (finely chopped)
  • Curry Leaf – 3 to 4 sprig (chopped)
  • Besan flour – 400 gram
  • Rice flour – 100 gram
  • Chili Powder – 1 ½ Tsp
  • Turmeric Powder – ½ Tsp
  • Coconut oil – 1 Kg
  • Salt for taste

Dough Preparation

Knead besan flour, rice flour, ½ tsp chili powder, ¼ tsp turmeric powder and salt with adequate
water to make the dough (make sure it is not too loose)

  • Method
  • Firstly, in a pan heat coconut oil, add mustard, chopped onion, green chili, ginger, curry leaf,
    1 tsp chili powder, ¼ turmeric powder and sauté it well, also add salt for taste.
  •  Then add the smashed potatoes to above and blend it well.
  •  Keep it aside till it’s cool and then make balls out of it using hands
  •  Ones the balls are prepared dip it in the dough and fry them in the coconut oil
  •  Serve it hot
