Ingredients
- Chicken – 1 nos
- Potatoes – 3 nos
- Onion – 2 nos
- Green chilli – 3 to 4 nos
- Curry leaves – 3 to 4 sprigs
- Ginger – 1 nos
- Garlic – 9 to 10 nos
- Red chilli powder – 1 1/2 tbsp
- Coriander powder – 2 tbsp
- Turmeric powder – 1/2 tbsp
- Pepper powder – 1/2 tbsp
- Garam masala – 1 tbsp
- Mustard seed – 1 tsp
- Salt – 1 to 2 tsp
- Oil – 3 to 4 tbsp
Method
- Heat oil in a pan,add mustard seed and let them sputter.
- Then add the crushed ginger and garlic paste and saute them well.
- Add chopped onion, green chilli and curry leaves.
- Saute them well until the onions become transluscent.
- Sprinkle some salt and saute them well.
- Add red chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, pepper powder and garam masala.
- Add the cleaned chicken pieces and combine them well.
- Now add the chopped potato pieces and mix them well.
- Then add a sufficient amount of water and mix them well.
- Cover and cook them well till the chicken becomes soft.
- Remove the lid and check whether the chicken is well cooked or not.
- Once the chicken curry is ready, remove it from the fire and set it aside.
- Serve the tasty chicken curry with appam.
