Ingredients
- Chicken – 1 kg
- Shallots – 24 to 25 nos
- Ginger – 1 nos
- Garlic – – 15 to 16 nos
- Curry leaves – 3 to 4 sprigs
- Turmeric powder – 1/2 tbsp
- Garam masala – 1 tbsp
- Cumin seed – 1 tbsp
- Fennel seed – 2 tbsp
- Pepper seed – 1 tbsp
- Salt – 1 or 2 tsp
- Oil – 4 to 5 tbsp
Method:
- Firstly we have to crush the ginger and garlic and set them aside.
- Heat a pan add pepper seed, cumin seed and fennel seed.
- Saute and fry them well.
- Take the pan off the heat and set it aside.
- In a pan, heat the oil,add fennel seed.
- Then add the crushed ginger and garlic mix.
- Saute them well.
- Then add shallots and curry leaves.
- Saute them well.
- Sprinkle some salt and saute till the shallots become soft.
- Then add turmeric powder and garam masala.
- Saute them well.
- Then add chicken pieces and saute them well.
- Add some salt and mix them well.
- Pour a sufficient amount of water over them and thoroughly mix them.
- Cover and cook till the chicken is soft.
- Now we have to crush the fried ingredients into a fine powder and set it aside.
- Remove the lid and check whether the chicken is well cooked or not.
- Add the crushed masala mix and combine them well.
- Cook for 5 to 6 minutes.
- Take the pan off the heat and set it aside.
- Then add few curry leaves and mix them well.
- Serve the tasty pepper chicken curry with appam.
