Thattukada style chicken fry

Ingredients

  • Chicken – 1kg
  • Shallots – 13 to 14 nos
  • Green chilli – 3 nos
  • Garlic – 9 to 10 nos
  • Ginger – 1 nos
  • Curry leaves – 3 sprigs
  • Black pepper – 1 tsp
  • Fennel seed – 1 tsp
  • Dry red chilli – 4 nos
  • Red chilli powder – 1 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder – 1 tsp
  • Rice flour – 1 ½ tbsp.
  • Corn flour – 1 tbsp
  • Vinegar – 1 tbsp
  • Egg – 1 nos
  • Salt – 1 or2 tsp
  • Oil – 1 kg

Method

  • Firstly ,we have to cut and clean the chicken, then wash and set aside.
  • Then crush dry red chilli ,set aside.
  • Now we have to grind shallots, green chilli, garlic, ginger, curry leaves, black pepper, fennel seed ,
    into fine paste and keep aside
  • Take a bowl add cleaned chicken pieces, grinded masala, crush dry red chilli ,red chilli powder,
    turmeric powder and vinegar.
  • Again we add rice flour, corn flour, salt and egg mix them well and marinated for 20 to 30 minutes.
  • Heat oil in a pan add marinated chicken pieces and fry them well.
  • Drain excess oil and keep aside.
  • Serve the chicken fry with appam or meals
